Hi everybody,

after a long posting break, iŽ m back again.
I finally just finished my latest project.
The conversion is based on a New Ray 1:43 Ford pickup truck.
The model shows the F550 La County Fire department EST (Emergency Support Team) unit 94, stationed in Turnergrove drive, Lakewood, south of Los Angeles City.
As far as iŽve learned, meanwhile the Ford is replaced with a newer Dodge Ram quad cab version.

To achieve the proper appearance of the vehicle i first changed the wheels from the way too big, toyish version, to a much more accurate style and size.
Therefore is used the wheels of a 1:43 Mitsubishi Canter delivery truck. Then the most complicated part followed; scratchbuilding the entire rear section out of styrene sheets, rods, squares and tubes. Mostly i could recycle leftovers from previous projects (think green  Grin)
The next thing was to modify the front grill/bumper and to build the pushbar with the winch. Finally i create my selfmade waterslide decals and combined them with a reflective stripe.

Apart from a few details the conversion comes pretty close to the original version that was used by the LACOFD.
I think it turned turned out quite good  Roll Eyes
