Here are photos of the Impala mockup. You'll note two completely different push bumper options,a full wrap around model and the standard type. Two new rooflights are shown but are difficult to see because, at this stage, they are all clear. The interior is police spec with the same computer recently seen in the Tahoe mockup photos.

Several items have been noted for improvement. The edges of the wrap around bumper need to be trimmed where they meet the wheel openings and the vertical sides of the standard push bumper are a little too wide. Additionally, the outside mirrors are too large which, the vendor already noted.

Wheels and tires are the last items to be made. For the Impala two different wheels are being made. The standard police wheel and a full hubcap version. Axles are straight front and rear.

Thanks once again for the continued updates Dennis!  Another home run for you and the police collectors.  The car looks great, and the new light bars are top notch.

IMO these photos show how good the single castings are. I have appreciated the opening features of previous models however the single casting is so much smoother and everything lines up perfectly. Thanks again for these excellent pictures.

Wait till you see the new vintage roof lights. This car is truly remarkable. And remember, its a test shot. I could not find anything wrong with it at all. Was great timing to walk in the door of Diecast Direct just after Dennis got it in the mail. This is another winner. The police collector has never had it so good. Thanks for the update Dennis. Hope that stranger in the building didnt make off with anything. Rich

Only what he filled the box with he's holding. A surveillance camera in the darkened warehouse after closing caught him standing next to the bins with all the individual FRR parts.

Nice work as always Dennis. I agree with the sentiments on the single casting. Opening doors are fun and all, but the single casting just makes the piece so much more realistic. Thank you for keeping us all up-to-date and your pursuit (pun intended) on accuracy and qaulity. Another certain emergency diecast company I can think of could learn a few things by taking a page from your book.  Grin Wink

I was one of those guys who wanted to keep the opening doors but it is safe to say I am rapidly becoming a single casting convert.  I really like seeing those deep relief cuts.   That will allow for enhanced detail even after painting.  Outstanding Dennis... Just Outstanding.!!!   Smiley Cool

Dennis I don't really like that version of the wheels, and they don't look like anything on a real Impala  Huh

Seriously though this is a really handsome looking piece, makes me wish I was still in to police models, seems to me there are a LOT of new things happening there, and it's a big thanks to you, great work.

Yea, well, after investing to create all those parts, some corners had to be cut somewhere. There're round and they roll so we're calling it good. Might even consider painting them black. Grin

Just put generic painted "Alcoa" rims on them... regardless of if it's a Charger, Crown Vic, Impala or Tahoe! It's "close enough" for some companies!!  Saves you all that dough on producing that nit-picky "accuracy" annoyance too! Grin Grin Grin Grin Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Wink
