With the recent release of the Carson City, NV engine, the yellow color with blue striping and lettering got me thinking of another department that utilizes a similar color scheme...Freeport Maine.

First, here is Freeport Engine 1, a 2001 Pierce Dash 2000/750. Based on what I can see it this photo, it looks as if Code 3 could easily replicate this model with existing tooling. I think the color scheme and unique features would help sell it, plus we haven't seen anything from Maine yet.

Next is Freeport Engine 5's 2009 Pierce Quantum PUC 1500/710/40A, while I understand TWH makes what Pierce and Seagrave want them to make, I think this would make a beautiful piece even though we will likely never see it.

Haven't we already learned our lesson about Pierces with rescue engine bodies that have night scans on the roof?  Grin Cheesy  Just kidding, I really like that paint scheme, it's sharp.  Not too keen on the painted steel rims, but the truck still looks good nonetheless, and I really like trucks that have something where that oscillator is.

I was in Freeport in 2004, they had a very nice and attractive fleet, and where a great bunch to stop and visit.  I was in some time around the Yatming was releasing the model of their antique ALF, as I recall one of the guys remarking about a model of it coming out, or just came out.

On a side note, the FFD’s history with L.L. Bean is interesting, at one time years ago L.L. Bean handled the call taking and dispatching of the fire department.  I always image some city slicker calling to order some stuff and mid call the operator going “Hold on sir, theirs a fire, I have tone out the department”.  Yes I know much of small town and rural American once used either some form of an answering service or even had the emergency phones sent to some ones house as the dispatch system.
