Charlie Rowley

This is an HO scale scene.  There are three views entitled: "The Morning Check", "We got a leak, Chief" and  "The Discussion".

The Tremont Fire Department is a small suburban department that takes pride in its equipment. It is varied from the Mack CF pumper that is being  checked out before the day begins, to the ex-military brush rig that was built  by  department members and finally to the vintage Ahrens-Fox that has somehow  sprung an oil leak. The discussion is earnest about fixing the leak as the Fourth  of July parade is coming up and the Fox has been the lead piece since it was  purchased new in 1927. Knowing this crew, it will have the Fox back in running  shape in plenty of time. After all it is still in service, although not as a  first line piece.

The firehouse is a kit structure. The signboard over the doors was hand lettered. Brick work was weathered with a series of washes. The scenery is  model railroad materials.

The Ahrens Fox is a Jordan Miniature. The brush rig is a modified Roco 5 ton cargo truck that has a scratch built pump on the rear. The brush bars are all brass wire. The Mack CF is a no-name piece that I found at Don Mills  Hobbies. It was repainted, given some detailing and Roco warning lights.

The chief's Chevy Impala and the '55 Chevy in the street are from Malibu International that I found at a Walmart store. Decals for Tremont FD were made on an ALPS printer for the Mack, brush truck, the Fox and the rear deck of the chief's car.

Figures are modified HO scale railroad figures, painted with department
"work uniforms".
