My diorama is based on the events on September 21st 2005 when a Jetblue Airbus A-320 made a safe emergency landing at KLAX after a nose gear malfunction was found shortly after take off. The aircraft was carrying 140 passengers and 6 crew when it touched down at 6:20pm after being in the air for 3 hours while they had decided the best cause of action. Some 110 emergency personal were on hand to meet flight 292 as it landed on runway 25L. The pilot used up about 95% of the runway.

This diorama is 1200mm Long by 900mm Wide, The aircraft is custom built by "emodelairplanes" who can be found on e-bay and is 1-64 scale, I re-decaled a L.A.F.D. TDA to T95 and added the LAX logos and lights to the front cab. I also re-decaled a L.A.F.D. GMC to EMS 4. I used deck and path paint which has sand in it for the runway, made the lights out of plastic and colored beads, Signage made with plastic sheets and I used the computer to type up the signs and printed out on label paper. I used a burnt color sprinkle on model grass to make it look as real as possible. I also made the LAX Airport Operations vehicles which I used photos to get it as close to the real ones as possible.
